As we move closer to Mike Tyson‘s return to the squared circle against Jake Paul, more predictions and opinions are rolling in. This high profile fight has many famous personalities keeping a close watch, with varied opinions and predictions. For example, actor/martial artist Michael Jai White and rapper The Game picked Tyson to win that bout. Another rapper Lil Pump picked Jake Paul claiming he’d bet $100,000 on ‘The Problem Child’. The latest comments about that fight comes from Hollywood A-lister, Mark Wahlberg who joined the Tyson train.
“Look, I’d like to see the old Mike come out one more time, one-rounder,” Mark Wahlberg told ‘Clickednloaded’. Competing at 58 years old is no joke and the 53-year-old actor hopes that neither fighter comes out of the bout with a medical predicament. ‘Iron Mike’ already faced health complications, pulling out of the initial date in June, so Wahlberg being a fan of the icon, expressed concern on the former heavyweight champion’s health.
While mentioning that some people may not like an early ending to the exhibition match, Mark Wahlberg added, “I just hope nobody gets hurt, and you know, I always watch Mike. PPV people always complain, ‘Oh, what, one round? It wasn’t worth the money.’ I always get my money’s worth when I watch Mike, a dear friend.”

There are newer concerns growing in the combat sports community because the onslaught from an opponent 31 years younger could be a sizeable challenge for the ageing Tyson. The recent concern was brought to attention by none other than the British middleweight boxer, Denzel Bentley. ‘2Sharp’ stated that ‘Iron Mike’ wasn’t ‘the Mike Tyson of old’ during the end of his career or even in his 2020 exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr. Recalling the bout that ended in a draw, Bentley said, “We saw him make a comeback a few years ago against Roy Jones and he couldn’t hurt Roy Jones. What makes you think he could hurt a young, fit man that trains, is athletic, [and] he actually fights?”.

“Look, you’ve for a 50 [plus] year old man that smokes w**d a lot – a lot! He’s going to try, he’s going to try but it won’t be enough. He hasn’t been hit in the face properly for however many years. He’s probably not event sparring properly right now.” said a skeptical Bentley who told ‘talkSPORT Boxing’ that he won’t watch the fight.
“It’s two minute rounds, which means the pace will be really fast. Can his heart hold up to that? Is he doing hard runs, is he doing cardio and is he doing all these things that athletes do? All I’m saying is if I was 60 I wouldn’t want to train this hard,” Bentley continued, indicating that going too hard at such a pace could later result in more health complications.
