After Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois via KO in the 9th round of their fight, reporter Dan Rafael took to Twitter and shared a photo of Dubois punching Usyk. He called the shot “a low blow” and likewise justified referee Luis Pabon branding Dubois’ body shot an illegal punch in the fifth round of the fight.

While there are “really good photographs” of Duois vs. Usyk, promoter Frank Warren declared Rafael’s photo did not contain the punch in question. In addition, Warren claimed Rafel “wouldn’t know what a waistline is”. In a recent interview with IFL TV, the CEO of Queensberry Promotions expressed his annoyance with the photo shared by Rafael.

In the wake of Daniel Dubois’ controversial defeat against Oleksandr Usyk, Frank Warren published an article titled “Justice for Daniel”. In the article, he bemoaned the fact that while “the excellent” Usyk remained on his throne, Dubois was “left to lick his wounds“. Along those lines, Warren declared that Queensberry Promotions would throw their weight behind Dubois and seek out justice. He is strongly of the opinion that “Oleksandr Usyk was bludgeoned to the canvas” with a legal shot in the fifth round and he “would have been out for the count, had there been one“.

Likewise, Warren objected to the low-blow photo Rafael shared. “There are really good photographs. I’m not talking about the photograph that Dan Rafael put out. Because one, it wasn’t the punch. And two, he wouldn’t know what a waistline is,” he said to IFL.

Warren demands a rematch and a “more appropriate no-contest”

In his article, Warren announced that team Dubois knew Usyk was “a bit suspect” when it came “to the body“. Likewise, the strategy devised by team Dubois “involved targeting” the body of the great Ukrainian. As per Warren’s belief, the shot by Dubois was “indeed legitimate,” but Usyk influenced Pabon’s decision by “flinching several times” in the opening stages.

Hence, Warren feels Dubois should now be compensated with an “ordered rematch“. “More appropriate would be the fight being declared a no-contest,” he added. While Warren demanded an ordered rematch, Usyk declared he would only fight Dubois in a bare-knuckle bout.
