Jake Paul fought and defeated MMA veteran Nate Diaz almost two weeks ago. Without an iota of doubt, for a person who used to make his living as a content creator, Paul has come a long way since debuting professionally in 2020. It’s not an easy feat and deserves praise. However, is he ready to face a boxer like Canelo Alvarez or Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Paul, it appears, believes so. Instead, as he reveals, the 50-0 fighter could have even been apprehensive about facing him.

For a few years, ‘The Problem Child’ has been vocal about taking on either Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Alvarez. Both boxers are among the greatest of our time. The 26-year-old is confident in his ability to face Alvarez. Regarding Mayweather Jr., after years of calling him out for a fight, Paul seems to believe that the undefeated former champion may no longer be interested in fighting.

In a recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, he stated that two years ago, he expressed an interest in fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. But seemingly, the undefeated former champion was never too keen about it. Likewise, he mentioned calling out for a Canelo fight: “Yea, I said 2 years ago, the Floyd Fight is really interesting to me. But I don’t think he wants that smoke. …I said 2 years ago, Canelo. And everyone was like. You are a f*cking idiot. He will kill you. I always said yea, but what about four years? That’s 2 years from now. I just went 10 rounds. He fights 12 rounds….”

He questioned why anyone should doubt that he wouldn’t be able to go against Alvarez in two years for a twelve-round bout. It is safe to say that Paul has his eyes set on Alvarez. And despite the odds against him, Paul sees himself as a threat to The Mexican champion.

Jake Paul and ‘The Money’

Jake Paul doesn’t seem too fond of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Logan Paul, his elder brother, claimed that Mayweather Jr. hadn’t paid him fairly for their fight. Reflecting on the same, ‘The Problem Child’ mocked the undefeated boxer while promoting his company. In his YouTube video, he stated, “Shout out to Floyd, hey Floyd, download Betr, and maybe you can earn enough money to pay back my brother, your scumbag.” Hence, Mayweather Jr. might have ruffled a few feathers with the Paul family. As it stands, their differences may not settle anytime soon.
