Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury have been taking shots on social media for a few days. This picked up after it emerged that the WBC may not grant ‘The Gypsy King’ a Franchise Champion tag. As a result, he will be unable to sidestep a mandatory defense against ‘The Body Snatcher.’
In their exchanges, Whyte revealed he knocked Fury down in a sparring session. The exact details weren’t known, however, ‘The Villain’ elected that the time was right to make it public knowledge.

In a chat with talkSPORT, the Heavyweight pugilist spilled the beans on the incident. He said, “He was getting ready to fight David Haye and obviously, his trainer at the time was trying to get him to walk me down and pressure me like he would Haye, and he was frustrated that day because I kept hitting him, countering him and dropping him.”
Dillian Whyte knocked Tyson Fury down twice
Here, ‘The Villain’ dropped a bombshell on the boxing world. He said, “I dropped him twice that day. So he was just frustrated and he was sobbing. And then his coach cussed him and said ‘listen, if that’s what you’re doing here now, David Haye is going to knock you out so get up and get on with it.’”
It took some hard love from ‘The Gypsy King’s coach to will him back to his feet and continue training. Haye eventually pulled out of the fight twice and Fury went on to clash against Joey Abell and claim his 22nd victory.
Despite all his trash-talking, Whyte may not even have to fight Fury. This is because the WBC Champion will go up against Deontay Wilder in a championship fight and ould drop the belt to the determined challenger.

Fury decimated ‘The Bronze Bomber’ in the second installment and promised to train even harder. This is because he knows the power of the American boxer having been knocked down in their first fight. The clash in December 2018 remains ‘The Gypsy King’s only professional bout where he hasn’t been declared a winner.
Meanwhile, ‘The Body Snatcher’ will take on Alexander Povetkin next month. He claims that despite all the attention on ‘The Gypsy King’, he will be focused on his next match. Whyte said, “I’m concentrating on him, because if I don’t beat them then all that other stuff doesn’t matter.”
