Amir Khan vouches for Bomac’s innocence

Bomac managed to sidestep the typical five-year minimum sentence for unintentionally possessing a gun in the UK. Judge Nicholas Dean recognized “exceptional circumstances” surrounding the case and issued a 20-month suspended jail term. Notably, undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford testified in BoMac’s favor. The coach was then spared from immediate incarceration. However, Crawford was not the only one.

Khan, not only vouched for his innocence, but he also wrote a letter to help out the boxing coach. “What Bomac went through was tough and I always said he was an innocent man and he made a mistake. I’m glad that the UK judge made it very easy for him. I wrote a letter for him as well. Bomac deserved it.” said Khan when asked about the entire fiasco. “I have trained with him and that neighbourhood is so dangerous and people come off the streets do boxing and becoming champions.”

Khan emphasized the reason behind the possession, which was the menacing condition of the locality Bomac stayed in.
