In his recent match against British professional boxer, Tommy Fury, KSI received the first loss of his career. JJ wanted to defeat Fury to outshine his longtime rival Jake Paul, who was also defeated by the boxer earlier this year, in their fight in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, despite going against a professional boxer, the YouTuber appeared quite confident in his chances of winning the fight. However, when the result came out, Fury was awarded the win via a majority decision, a decision which was later turned into a unanimous decision. Notably, JJ received a lot of support from fans who claimed that he should’ve been awarded the victory.

So it seems that despite the huge gap in experience, the YouTuber-turned-boxer managed to pull off a rather convincing performance for the fans. Recently, he even shared how he sparred with guys bigger than him to prepare for the fight. And now his trainer has made a startling statement, hinting that JJ was simply selling himself short. Here’s what Alexis Demetriades revealed about JJ’s time in camp.

In a recent interview, KSI’s trainer, Demetriades, provided some revealing details about KSI’s training camp, weeks after his loss to Fury. While KSI had publicly denied dropping anyone during sparring, Alexis acknowledged that it did happen, albeit discreetly. During the interview, Fred Beck pointed out that JJ didn’t drop anyone, according to what the YouTuber said during his appearance on IMPAULSIVE. However, the trainer stated, “No he dropped people.” According to Alexis, JJ did not openly discuss these sparring incidents, as they preferred not to disclose names. The trainer claimed, “Yeah I mean he knows the rules, we try not to talk about, we will never name names. But yeah I mean he took loads of guys out.”

This led Beck to reveal the conversation that took place between Logan Paul and ‘The Nightmare’. He stated that KSI had stated that everyone was heavier than him so he was unable to drop anyone. Furthermore, the trainer revealed another surprising detail. He stated, “I mean yeah, one thing I’ve got to say and I know JJ won’t say but he’s sparring in 20-ounce gloves. He fights in tens and spars in twenties.” The interviewer questioned if one could even get twenty-ounce gloves. However, the trainer revealed, “Yeah they’re made specially for him- he has to, he is a heavy hitter and he punches like he’s a super aggressive fast heavy hitter.”

KSI reveals how his sparring partners tried to take his “head off”

Recently, JJ disclosed the sum that was offered to his sparring partners to defeat him during his preparations for the Fury fight. There were already a lot of rumors about his sparring partners being offered a lot of money if they could knock the YouTuber out. During his appearance on IMPAULSIVE, JJ talked about the legitimacy of these claims. Moreover, he revealed that the sparring partners were offered a £5,000 bonus for the challenge.

KSI remarked, “Yeah, a five grand bonus. Yeah, man, it was pretty ridiculous! I heard it only near the end of the camp, so they didn’t tell me, obviously. I was like, ‘Jesus Christ, no wonder they’re trying to knock my head off’.” He explained that the challenge was complicated due to the weight differences. He claimed that he faced larger opponents, often weighing over 200 pounds. While he could daze his sparring partners, knocking them out was another matter, given their professional boxing backgrounds.
