‘He Said Shut Up’: Deji Makes Startling Revelation About Floyd Mayweather Fight

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather dismissed the YouTube sensation Deji in their exhibition match in Dubi. The former 5-division champion beat the British YouTuber in an emphatic fashion as he secured a TKO stoppage in the sixth round. Despite the bout being an exhibition, Deji did not manage to go all the way with ‘TBE’

Moreover, Deji even revealed that Mayweather was talking to him during their fight and was not shy to trash talk. In an interview with the
What’s Good Podcast, Deji stated that he told ‘Money’ to relax during their fight due to it being an exhibition. “I remember because I was wondering as clay clinch him so I clinched him the first time I said relax he didn’t say anything he doesn’t say anything” said Deji.

However, Mayweather gave the YouTuber a reply he was not expecting. Deji added that when he confronted Mayweather he was put in his place by ‘Money’.” then again I said bro relax then he said shut up I’m money Mayweather I do what I want and that point. I’m just saying okay cool.” he added.

This was certainly a page out of Mayweather’s playbook, as he has become notorious for talking during the fight. Moreover, this was proved after he even talked with the commentators during his bout with Don Moore back in 2021.

Floyd Mayweather responds to criticism over exhibition bouts

Mayweather has come out and responded to criticism over his exhibition bouts. In an interview when asked about the impact of these bouts on his legacy, he responded by claiming that money matters more to him than his legacy in the sport. “A lot of time people say, ‘Oh, Floyd have to do exhibitions. My philosophy is never stop getting it (money). Currency over legacy. Currency over legacy. Believe me, if I don’t ever do another exhibition in my life, I can live a great life.” he said.

Mayweather rightly has the nickname ‘Money’ as for him, fighting is more of a business. However, it is hard to deny the legacy that he will leave behind, as he is certainly one of the best to ever do it.
