Derek Chisora is fighting again. Yes, after a nearly year-long gap, ‘War’ will enter the ring again on July 27. But it is not the fight against Joe Joyce that people are talking about. Clips of the former British heavyweight champion reportedly engaged in a dust-up with a delivery person have been gaining quite some traction.
After scoring a win over Gerald Washington on the Anthony Joshua–Robert Helenius undercard, Derek Chisora will be facing Joe Joyce in a headline event at London’s O2 Arena this month-end. The big fight card features, among others, a Moses Itauma bout as well.

Happy Punch shared the short clip. The message read, “Delivery driver tried to swing on heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora and got headbutted.” The over-half-minute-long footage doesn’t show the heavyweight boxer’s face clearly. The reason why the fight with the Deliveroo driver occurred remains to be ascertained.

The incidents reportedly took place in Hampstead. In the footage, a man wearing a red cap, believed to be Derek Chisora, is seen grabbing hold of the Deliveroo person who is standing over a fallen bike. Given the weak audio, it’s difficult to make out the words exchanged.
Nevertheless, as the situation heated up, a few onlookers stepped in to intervene. A slow-motion replay shows the ‘War’ head-butting the guy, who is later shown stumbling down. Citing a netizen, a report on ‘LowKickMMA’ mentioned that the heavyweight boxer, it seems, wasn’t happy with the person using his bike on the pavement where people were sitting and having food.

‘Del Boy’ @ ‘War’
Anyway, it was a ‘take a dig’ time for fans. Many wondered, of all the men in the world, why the Deliveroo guy had to pick a heavyweight boxer of Derek Chisora’s repute for a street brawl. Let’s check out what a few of them had to say about the Hampstead thing.
Laughing out loud, this fan found it surprising; even if one is not aware that the person they are facing is a professional boxer, the latter’s physical appearance should be enough to suggest the kind of menace he would bring.
Even if you don’t recognize him as a pro boxer you would think a hw pro boxer would look like the kind of person you don’t want to fight lol

Then this user finds the whole idea of going against a professional boxer ludicrous. But such instances often occur when one runs out of mouth.
What happens when you talk too much

According to this fan, questions raised over Derek Chisora’s boxing skills might persist. But he is not the person one would want to be in a corner with.
Say what you want about chisoras boxing skills, but he’s not a man you want problems with😭

Then the next fan went a bit further. The Deliveroo guy might as well have picked a fight with either Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk. Why did he have to choose ‘War’?
Out of everyone he chose dereck 😭😭 even tyson fury or usyk would’ve been a better choice 🤣😭

But this follower decided to catch the bull by the horns. They expressed curiosity about the reasons behind the fracas. They felt that perhaps Chisora might have provoked the fight. The footage suggests the delivery person must have been on his bike when the heavyweight boxer confronted him.
Anybody know the context on this situation? Chisora looks like the aggressor to me, from the very start he’s grabbing the dude and getting physical and the delivery driver is literally on a bike.

It might take some time until a clear picture of the incident appears in full detail. Nevertheless, entering a fight, especially with a card coming up, may not come across as auspicious for some fans.
The last few years haven’t been really encouraging for Harare, Zimbabwe-born Derek Chisora. With only two wins out of the six fights since 2020, talks emerged from several corners that ‘War’ should look for retirement. But shrugging off the rumors, the heavyweight challenger shared in an interview with iFL TV that he isn’t looking at quitting until he has had his fiftieth fight. “But it’s not retirement yet,” he said, then adding, “I’m not stopping.” He revealed, “I’ve got three more fights, then I’m out. I want to get to 50.“
