Is Jake Paul biting off more than he can chew with Mike Tyson, or is it all hype?

The final press conference for the Jake PaulMike Tyson fight took an unexpected and hilarious turn. Out of nowhere, former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew raised his hands, drawing everyone’s attention. Beside him stood an elderly gentleman, wearing boxing gloves and looking like he was ready to rumble. Bellew wanted to know if Jake Paul would take on the ‘grandfather’ after his fight with Tyson.

It’s different; before he could get any answer, the security closed in and escorted him and the ‘boxing grandad’ out of the venue. Reportedly, Tony Bellew was in Texas for the Irish gambling company ‘Paddy Power’s promotion. Perhaps most could make out the reason behind his trash-talking. The fight between 58-year-old Mike Tyson and 27-year-old Jake Paul has been under scrutiny for some time. Many fans are still worried. The fight against a young fighter could harm ‘Iron’ Mike. Though ushered out, Tony Bellew feels a fight between Jake Paul and the ‘grandfather’ makes for a compelling argument.

Petrified to be honest,” said Bellew while speaking with IFL TV’s Colm McGuigan. When asked if Jake Paul could hurt Mike Tyson, the former cruiserweight champion responded, “Of course he could, mate; he’s half the age.

Switching gears, McGuigan checked if Bellew would consider fighting Jake Paul. Bellew replied that despite him being 41 (he will turn 42 on November 30) and mostly inactive since his 2018 retirement, he could still give Jake Paul a sound drubbing without needing any special training.

Turning to Norman, the ‘grandfather’, he said, “He’s got two new hips; he’s ready to rock and roll whenever you want; the only day he can’t go is Thursday; he’s got bingo on a Thursday.” But the IFL TV reporter wasn’t done. “If Jake gets through Norman, are you saying this is a call out to Jake Paul to say, Look, I’m not happy about what you’re doing to Mike Tyson?” Here I’ll get in the ring with you,” McGuigan asked.

Tony Bellew asserted that Jake Paul won’t be able to beat Norman ‘The Grandfather’. While he hoped for a Mike Tyson victory, he seemed certain that Jake Paul would never call him out.

When matchmaking went awry

No sooner had Jake Paul finished his reply at the press conference, than a voice boomed across the venue. “Jake Paul, the biggest clown within boxing. If Mike lets you survive on Saturday night, then I’ve got your next opponent here, Jake,” said Tony Bellew over a Paddy Power mic with an inbuilt speaker. Ariel Helwani checked whether that was Tony Bellew indeed.

Then pointing at the elderly gentleman, who seemed quite enthusiastic with his gestures of shadow boxing, the ‘Bomber’ said, “This guy’s got two hips, two new hips.” By the time security could be seen moving towards Bellew. Tony Bellow once again called out Jake Paul, “He’s 107; he’s a great-grandfather. Come on, Jake, give this fella a chance.
