Regis Prograis‘ strength coach, Evins Tobler, believes Devin Haney lacks the necessary attributes, particularly in terms of his chin and power. Moreover, he believes that Haney is headed for a loss when he competes for the WBC light welterweight title on December 9th at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. According to Tobler, Haney’s professional record, despite being 30-0 with 15 KOs, is inflated and built on fights against subpar opponents. He claims that only four of Haney’s fights can be considered “real,” with the rest being against lower-quality fighters.

In a video that recently surfaced on YouTube, the two can be seen going back and forth during a press conference for the upcoming Haney-Prograis bout. Moreover, he added, “Devin Haney had 30 fights, he knocked out 15 bums. He’s only have four fights.” He questions Haney’s ability to stop someone like Regis Prograis, emphasizing that Haney lacks both a solid chin and knockout power.

Not only that, he called Haney and his father “vulture” claiming Prograis is going to knock the former champion out. He stated that ‘The Dream’ and his father like to “sit around” and wait for his opponents to “make a mistake” in order to capitalize on it. Meanwhile, Haney too fired back at the trainer asking how many fighters he himself had knocked out.
