Gervonta Davis, a Baltimore prodigy who rose to prominence in the boxing world, recently appeared on the ‘I AM ATHLETE’ podcast. Davis was questioned about his viral workout video from back in the day in which he was training with world-renowned rapper, Drake.

Gervonta Davis recalls meeting Drake

When asked about his experience training with Drake, Gervonta Davis replied, “That was, it was cool. I mean he didn’t finish the run. He did a little clip and that’s what, that was it. But he probably, I mean it was cool just to have somebody like that, you know, to be around to come into my world and see what I’ll be doing, so it felt good, you know.”

Davis further added, “He probably did 50 steps. Yeah, he probably did 50 steps. We was playing basketball, though we were playing basketball and then I ran that though. So, I only did it because I was ready. I wasn’t really supposed to be at like out there with them you know.”

Tank continues, “ I just went out there just because he invited me, so, and it was before a fight. So, I’m like I gotta do something else like I can’t just play basketball, I gotta run, so that’s what I did.” 

Gervonta Davis, often known as Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, is a professional boxer from Baltimore, Maryland, where he was born and raised. As a result of signing with Mayweather Promotions as his promoter, he has been under the mentorship of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. Davis has been actively achieving new heights since joining Mayweather Promotions in 2015 and has crafted an excellent story with his efforts and achievements.

Aubrey Drake Graham, better known by his stage name ‘Drake’ is a Canadian rapper. Champagne Papi, Drizzy, and 6 God are some of his nicknames. When you’re this well-known, it’s natural for fans to give you nicknames. The musician has never refrained from expressing his admiration for athletes. 

Tank Davis and the 6 God had a good time and their camaraderie was seen in the video. It was a treat for both of their audiences. Only time will tell when the fans will get to see them together again.
