Mike Tyson and Mitch Green have fought each other on multiple occasions and one of those scraps didn’t happen inside a boxing ring. Even though Tyson beat up Green in a pugilistic matchup in 1988, the bad blood between them was still left unsettled.
The duo relinquished their feud in the streets of Harlem, where Tyson handed another beat down to his former in-ring rival. According to reports, Mitch Green was a notorious gang leader of New York back then. Having lost to Mike Tyson in the ring, he was already vexed.
While Tyson made his way into Green’s locality in August 1988 for shopping, the gang leader decided to confront ‘The Baddest Man On the Planet’ which didn’t work out very well for him. Tyson freshly recalled the incident in a chat with the ‘You Already Know’ podcast.

He said, “I had hit him and I hit him. I dropped him and I thought he was out cold. So, I got in the Rolls Royce and see [him] right there, I iced him. I thought he was close, I go on the Rolls Royce. I am tired, I am overweight, I have been drinking. And I told my friend, let’s go. But this ni*** [Mitch Green] pops back up like Jason”
“Because he is on Angel Dust. I know I am hitting this n****, his head is always going down. But then comes back up.”

Mike Tyson suffered a hairline fracture in his arm due to the altercation. But he apparently dominated Mitch Green in the clash, who donned a bruised-up face and an injured eye. Tyson also feared killing Green in that incident. However, the same didn’t happen and Mike Tyson was pleased to know that.

Mitch Green came across a prime Mike Tyson all the time
Green fought Tyson when the young heavyweight star was terrorizing the entire heavyweight division with his highlight-reel knockouts. Although Green was taller than Mike Tyson, that didn’t help him in a scrap with the ‘Baddest Man On The Planet’. Green and Tyson have fought under different scenarios.
The professional boxing match and street fight in Harlem were contrasting to each other. But Tyson managed to retain his dominant charisma. Well, the outer-ring scrap wasn’t a glorifying event, as it garnered legal and medical attention for both sides.
