There’s a ‘gentleman’s code’, which never involves women when grown-up men are in conflict. It seems like Ryan Garcia might have crossed the line and broken the code. Again? Yes, it might not be his first, though. After making a few comments about former champion George Kambosos Jr.‘s wife during their beef, ‘KingRy’, as it appears, has come back for another round. Only this time he went after Caleb Plant‘s wife.

Garcia and the former super middleweight champion have been locked in an online back-and-forth for some time. A reporter caught up with ‘Sweethands’, to gauge his thoughts on Ryan Garcia’s latest tweets, especially the ones involving his wife, Jordan Plant. From the clip and conversation, it seems the Tennessean is at MGM Grand Arena for Gervonta Davis and David Benavidez‘s twin pay-per-view main event. It’s been over a year since Plant has had a fight. Not that many attempts weren’t made. Fans perhaps thought a fight with Jermall Charlo could be in the offing, especially after last year’s slap scandal. Then hopes arose when ‘Sweethands’ and Edgar Berlanga locked in an open squabble a few weeks ago. However, there’s still no solid confirmation.

When words sting at home

Naji from ‘Cigar Talk’ first checked for Caleb Plant’s views on Kyrone Davis‘ split decision win over Elijah Garcia. Then came the million-dollar question. “I saw in social media today, obviously you and Ryan were going back-and-forth; does that make you feel alright, man, Ryan talking crazy and all that type of sh*t, or you just kind of letting it pass?” Asked Naji.

‘Sweethands’ admitted that when someone drags one’s spouse into a wrangle, things do tend to take on a different tone. “Yeah, I mean, you know, somebody talking to just somebody talking about, you know, once you start talking about somebody’s wife and you know things like that matter… you know it kind of it makes it a little different,” he said.

Caleb Plant continued; maybe Ryan Garcia is badly in need of some support to get him back on track. He added, “So you know, at the same time he needs a lot of help, and he keeps it up… I’m sure he’ll get the help he’s looking for.” Naji then admitted that it appeared as if Plant was ready for a brawl. The Tennessean responded that he wasn’t looking forward to it. But if things come to that, he isn’t going to allow anyone to intimidate him either.

It seems the online spat between Plant and Garcia commenced when the latter responded to one of the tweets where ‘Sweethands questioned him for taking the performance-enhancing drugs. The former super middleweight champion even quieted down a fan who responded back to his tweet. Later, ‘KingRy’ himself joined.

Beyond boxing: Ryan Garcia and Caleb Plant

He wrote that Caleb Plant knows fairly well that he doesn’t care much. In fact, the two even met at the Haney fight presser. ‘Sweethands’ didn’t pull back. He chided Ryan Garcia for the way he rushed back to his security’s cover. It was ‘KingRy’s turn. First he said, “I’m going to hurt Caleb plant physically.” Then, a minute later he followed it with, “Caleb plant wife is beautiful; no disrespect.”

Calling Mrs. Plant one of the best interviewers in boxing, Garcia then commented on her physical attractiveness. His following tweet read, “Jordan Garcia, aka Jordan Plant.” Another post showed a ‘Twitter Space’ recording titled “Jordan Plant is my wife.” Some half-an-hour later, Ryan Garcia wrote, “@SweetHandsPlant, I personally would never let someone speak about my woman like that, but that’s just me.“

Given how things turned ugly between Ryan Garcia and Caleb Plant when they met face-to-face sometime ago, fans are now eagerly looking forward to how the situation takes off from here. ‘KingRy’ has gone up to 154 lbs. to challenge Errol Spence Jr., so would he dare touch super middleweight? There is no harm in giving flight to imagination. But then we’re talking about Ryan Garcia. Fans shouldn’t be surprised if he calls out ‘Sweethands’ for a ring fight.
