The YouTuber KSI is going to face the biggest fight of his career in just a matter of days. He is going to go toe to toe against the British professional boxer Tommy Fury in a highly anticipated match-up. The fight which is going to take place on 14 October in AO Arena, Manchester has the attention of boxing fans all over the world. This is KSI’s shot at proving himself a better boxer than his rival.

However, going into the fight, he is considered the underdog by the majority of the people because of his opponent’s status as a bona fide professional boxer. There’s not a lot of doubt about the victor in the minds of fans, however, the former world champion thinks JJ might just have better chances than people give him.

Tommy Fury is the favorite going into the fight being the younger brother of the heavyweight behemoth Tyson Fury. Belonging to a boxing family, he holds the advantage over the YouTuber as he has been learning to box since his childhood. KSI has only been into boxing for some years, which puts him at an absolute disadvantage. However, the former champion George Groves doesn’t think so.

Recently he blasted Fury as he discredited his status as a professional boxer. He stated, “People in the industry say Tommy Fury is a pro boxer, but I disagree. I think he’s a YouTube fighter. He’s known for being in YouTube fights. And now he’s fighting KSI, who is a YouTuber. He’s not a boxer. Just own it… And I don’t think this fight with KSI is as easy as they make out. KSI’s light and agile, he might be up for it and he could outbox and outfox Fury.” It seems Groves is expecting JJ to pull an upset on the upcoming fight as he belittled Fury’s standing as a boxer.

Carl Froch shares his disdain for the match-up

Grooves’ stand on the fight appears to be quite the opposite to that of the former super middleweight champion Carl Froch who is downright rejecting the notion of even watching the fight. He boldly criticized the event being called a Pro-boxing event as JJ is not a professional boxer. He stated, “KSI isn’t a pro fighter, and this should be called a night of play fighting, not pro boxing.”

F***ing well done.” He appeared disdainful towards the concept of the matchup and is refusing to spend his time watching it. He berated, “But I won’t be watching it. I ain’t staying up and watching that dog s***. No chance.”

Overall, the two former champs seem to hold a different outlook on the match-up. While one sees it as a balanced fight, the other claims it to be a one-sided deal not worth wasting time over. Which former champion do you agree with? Share your thoughts in the comments.
