Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has become the talk of the town since he defeated Tyson Fury to win the undisputed heavyweight champion title. Several celebrities from across the world congratulated the fighter on his triumph. The legendary boxer’s interaction with American rap artist Snoop Dogg cannot be missed. Their recently clicked photo is becoming viral on the internet. Where did the two meet, though?

Snoop Dogg visited the boxer on a film set, where the two clicked the picture. Soon after Usyk’s victory, he got an offer to work on a film named ‘The Smashing Machine’. It is based on the life of MMA legend Mark Kerr, which will be portrayed by WWE superstar turned actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. ‘The Cat’ on the other hand will be playing Ukrainian fighter Igor Vovchanchyn. 

An unusual gift for the Boxing God

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have been the two behemoths of the boxing heavyweight division for years. Usyk reigns as the undisputed king as he defeated both Joshua and Fury. He is no less than a Titan for boxing fans. Talking about Usyk and Snoop Dogg’s photo, the rapper visited the pound for pound boxer on the sets of the film in Montreal, Canada. In the picture, it can be seen that the American rapper gifted Usyk his classic dog paw chain, which reads ‘DPG’. 

It’s an homage to ‘Tha Dog Pound,’ a hip-hop duo that worked with Snoop Dogg on his label ‘Doggystyle Records.’ After receiving the gift, the Olympic gold medalist thanked the rapper and wrote, “Thanks bro I appreciate it.” Fans have been going crazy after seeing the two of them together. Oleksandr Usyk is gonna smoke tonight it seems

The Ukrainian boxer was the underdog in the fight between him and Fury. Usyk’s smaller size and weight made it seem extremely difficult for him to overcome ‘The Gypsy King.’ But he eventually proved that being skilled can never be taken away. Following that, some have even called him a gangster. Meanwhile, after seeing Snoop Dogg and Usyk’s picture, one fan wrote, “Two gangsters in their own right.”

Famously, Snoop Dogg enjoys marijuana blunts a lot. He even pays a person to roll his joints for him. Seeing Usyk with the rapper, one fan felt that Usyk would also share a puff with the rapper and he said, “Usyk will definitely smoke tonight”

In addition, Ryan Garcia was the buzz of the town after his victory over Devin Haney was declared a no-contest due to his drug test failure. Many fighters had positive test results for the usage of performance-enhancing drugs. Sometimes a substance they take on purpose, and other times it’s just a contaminated vitamin. Using this image, a fan referred to the PED issue in boxing and said, “He’ll probably fail a drugs test just standing next to snoop.” 

Usyk became a global celebrity after he created history to become the undisputed heavyweight champion after 25 years. He is going places as a lot of offers are coming his way given his newly established fame. One user had a rather polarizing thought and he stated, “The fame is getting to him.”

Snoop Dogg is a seasoned rapper and has created numerous hit albums. A fan acknowledged  the rapper’s popularity among fans and wrote, “Snoop really is the most beloved rapper ever.”

Well, Usyk is busy shooting for the film currently. But he has another big thing coming up at the end of the year. He is slated for a rematch against Fury in December.
