The former WBA, IBF, WBO, and The Ring champion George Kambosos Jr. took on one of the most exciting fighters currently in the lightweight division, Devin Haney. This fight took place on June 4, 2022, for the unification of the lightweight division titles.

The much-awaited fight did not disappoint, as Haney delivered a clinical performance to defeat Kambosos on his own turf.

George Kambosos Jr. reveals why he believes Devin Haney won the fight

It is no doubt that the American boxer outclassed the 28-year-old. However, Kambosos has a different take on how the fight went. He explains how Devin Haney won the fight.

George Kambosos Jr. stated, “Yeah, look I feel like I hit him a few times but that’s his game he likes to run and move and if he feels that he’s ahead on the scorecards he will do his thing but I’m not gonna take away from his night.”

The Aussie fighter also emphasized that he doesn’t want to discredit Haney in any way as he congratulated him and looks forward to the rematch. He stated, “All the best to him he’s the champion now from what the judges said and we will do it again.”

Haney extended his undefeated run to 28-0 by delivering the first loss of Kambosos’ career. The Dream defeated the 28-year-old via decision after outclassing him for 12 rounds straight. The rematch between the two can see the champion outshine Kambosos again. However, the Aussie fighter is also an exceptional pugilist and can come back and stun the w0rld.
