Canelo Alvarez witnessed a stellar boxing run in 2021, wherein he finally traced his pathway to glory and became the undisputed super-middleweight king. In his last fight, the p4p king beat Caleb Plant to cement his legacy at the 168-pound frame. Post that, many felt he’ll go ahead to defend his straps against mandatory contenders next.
However, Alvarez and his team truly stunned everyone as they announced their move up to the cruiserweight frame. This will be the biggest weight class for the Mexican boxing star, as he’s never fought at such weight before.
Putting some light on the same, Lennox Lewis recently gave his honest opinion. Speaking to Es News, he said, “I mean he can handle it. I mean, he lacks competition at his weight, so yeah, why not move up?”
