The upcoming matchup between KSI and Tommy Fury is creating all the rage that it possibly could. While the main event has of course taken a huge chunk of the spotlight, the undercard, Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis is also generating massive interest. From really ugly jabs in the digital domain to public meltdowns, these internet celebrities are doing everything they can to sell the fight.

There are just a couple of weeks left before fight night, and the press conference didn’t disappoint at all. It was not the trash talk between the fighters but a major meltdown from an unlikely figure that diverted attention from the star-studded lineup at the press conference. And all of its credit goes to Tommy Fury’s father, John Fury. Most fans have tried making sense of his outburst, including British Cruiserweight boxer Viddal Riley.

The ugly and personal jabs between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis found their way onto the press conference stage. As the fighters continued to undermine each other by going below the belt, John Fury kept urging them to keep the discussion limited to the fight. But none paid heed to his words. A seemingly frustrated John Fury shouted, “My son will fight him and I’ll fight anyone in the building.”

At one point in time, John Fury even flipped the tables at the press conference whilst screaming, “I’m a machine!”. The incident created a massive ruckus on stage as a massive brawl broke out, bringing a premature end to the press conference.

Days post the incident, KSI’s former trainer gave his two cents on the meltdown Fury had during the press conference. Explaining the role heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s father played at the event, he said, “I think John Fury tried to keep some balance and justice at the table. But then when no one was listening to him, he just thought I’m gonna take over the whole thing.” 

John Fury issues an apology

Tyson Fury’s father released a video statement apologizing for the chaos he caused during the conference. He took complete accountability for the ‘inappropriate language,’ he used as he went all ballistic during the event. He said, “It was unacceptable, I accept that.” Speaking further, he said, “Emotions run high, we get involved and it is the fight game, it was pandemonium.”

As he apologized, he also addressed the way the fighters also behaved. He said, “I wasn’t alone in doing it, but I wanna come out and apologize because I feel it’s appropriate to make that apology to the people who came to the press conference and the viewing audience.”
