“He Is Not Only My Manager but Also a Great Friend”: Amanda Serrano Threats to Block Her Fans for Criticizing Jake Paul Ahead of March Fight in 2024

Amanda Serrano has been boxing for over a decade. But, as it appears, the fortunes of the former undisputed featherweight champion changed two years ago when she joined Most Valuable Promotions. On April 30, last year, she fought Katie Taylor in a sold-out Madison Square Garden. It was the first time a women’s bout headlined an event at the hallowed venue in New York. No wonder; it went on to become the ‘biggest women’s fight of all time.’

Though she lost, Amanda soon recovered to make it back to the summit. All through, Jake Paul, as her promoter, supported her unwaveringly. This year, too, she suffered another setback. She had to cede her WBC belt as the sanctioning body refused to approve a 12-round bout for women. However, amidst his own challenges, Paul waded through and ensured that Serrano would enter the ring soon. She looks forward to defending her unified title in March. But ‘The Real Deal,’ in awe of her promoter’s unflinching support and friendship, appears to have taken steps to curtail the constant barrage of criticisms that he often faces.

Amanda Serrano mentioned being unsure whether anyone had any inkling of how it appeared when they applauded her for her achievements but at the same time threw shade at Jake Paul. So if they are genuine supporters, then they should exude some standards. She said, “I’m not sure if ppl understand that you shouldn’t write me saying something nice to me & on the same breath, disrespect my manager, @jakepaul. If you truly are a friend/fan/supporter show a little more class.“

Then she explained how ‘The Problem Child’ is not only her manager but a friend as well. So she would instead be happy if the supporters didn’t write anything at all. Finally, she mentioned that unless someone is impertinent, she never goes for the option of blocking. However, for a change, moving forward, if she came across anyone ungracious towards her team and herself, she would proceed with blocking the account.

The unified featherweight champion said, “Im Not a fan of Blocking ppl unless you’re real disrespectful, but moving forward, if you tweet me & disrespect my team, I’m blocking. I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind; I just want to change what you write to me about mine.”

The move follows the latest announcement about Amanda Serrano fighting Germany’s Nina Meinke. The duo will fight a 12-round bout on March 2 in San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The world champion is fighting in her homeland after a gap of two years.

Jake Paul: Taking a step ahead in women’s boxing

But the highlight of the story is that Jake Paul, too, will be participating in the event. But instead of headlining it, he would be joining the co-main fight. It would be the tenth professional bout for Paul. He recently told the media that his focus would remain on boxing for the year 2024. Last week, he defeated Andre August, a professional boxer, through a first-round knockout. The year ends on a high note for the Ohioan, who lost the first match of the year to Tommy Fury in February. A few days later, adding another feather to his cap, he announced a partnership with the USA Boxing team as they prepare for the summer Olympics in Paris next year.
