March 25 will see two highly skilled super middleweight champions David Benavidez and Caleb Plant going head to head in a title eliminator clash at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The duo was speculated to meet earlier but the fight could not reach fruition. But finally following an intense back-and-forth on social media they decided to settle it in the ring and prove themselves worthy to meet the undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in the coming future.
Benavidez, who is considered a threat to Alvarez’s throne had already held the WBC super-middleweight title twice and demanded a title shot against Alvarez for quiet a while but could not get it as he hails from Mexico. So his eyes would be on win over Plant which would make him the mandatory challenger. But before going that far, he would like to seek his grudge match against Plant whom he accused of flipping the. narrative.
