Very few have dared to step in the ring against the legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. As it turns out, influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul will be one of those people on November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. However, what ‘The Problem Child’ doesn’t know is, ‘Iron’ Mike plans to end the loudmouth boxer.
Tyson and Paul were initially set to fight back in June, but a sudden ulcer flare-up during a cross-country flight a while ago poured gasoline on those plans. This led to the rescheduled bout in November, which will feature ten two-minute rounds, giving a slight advantage to the 58-year-old Tyson.
However, despite his age, Tyson has revealed that he’s training as intensely as he did in his prime and plans to take Paul down, even though he admits to feeling a bit nervous about the fight.

Tyson recently appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, where the duo discussed Tyson’s upcoming showdown. Kimmel began by highlighting that despite getting the upper hand during his 2020 exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr., the final decision of draw didn’t really seem to bother the former undisputed heavyweight champion.
As Tyson was responding, “Well, it’s okay. I didn’t want to…,” Kimmel probed him, questioning whether it was because Tyson liked Jones Jr., to which Tyson agreed, stating, “I like him a lot.” This led Kimmel to probe further, asking Tyson whether he likes ‘El Gallo’ Paul. Without thinking about it much, Tyson revealed that he does like the 27-year-old, but he has other plans for Paul.
“Well, I like him, but in this particular fight, he has to go,” Tyson said. He further added that he is not taking Paul lightly because he knows Paul will be prepared for the bout. This prompted Kimmel to emphasize how nervous Paul might be about the fight, just for Tyson to claim that even he is nervous about the showdown too.
“Well, that’s part of fighting. I’m nervous too, but the closer it gets to the fight the least nervous I get,” Tyson said. When the conversation veered more toward the training side of things for the fight, Tyson revealed he had been training for the fight six hours a day. “I start at eleven, and I might leave the gym at five,” Tyson claimed.

Jake Paul promises to put Mike Tyson to sleep
Speaking on The Claman Countdown, Paul seemed all too aware of Tyson’s legendary status, as he called Tyson “the toughest opponent I’ve had yet.” However, this hasn’t dulled his confidence one bit. The YouTube star expressed his confidence in his abilities by stating, “You’re going to watch me knock out one of the greatest to ever do it.”
Mike Tyson was once believed to be one of the most ferocious boxers on the planet, yet Paul claimed during the interview that he is ready for the fight because of his rigorous training and consistent activity. Paul also added, “He wants to fight me, and so it’s an honor for me to be in there with a legend. But I have to do what I do best, and that’s put people to sleep.”
