Matchroom Boxing president Eddie Hearn has cleared the air about his views on Dana White. Hearn had called White stubborn for going ahead with UFC events. However, he stressed on the fact that media outlets spun his comments and tried to create a feud between the two.

?You know how people do it nowadays. You particularly take one line of what I say and then spin it out someway to create beef. That?s what someone did with Dana White. I said that Dana White was stubborn and I said I think it?s bad taste to go ahead with a show. But if you look at the sentence what I said was the reason why Dana White is so successful is because he has the b***** to have a crack at something like this.? said Hearn?

Dana White came under a lot of scrutiny for going ahead with events due to the pandemic. UFC 249 was set for April 18th. However ESPN requested White to call of the event. Dana had announced that he had two locations lockdown with one being the Indian reservation and the other an undisclosed island.
Eddie Hearn went onto say that if anything he was the one most likely to pull something off like this. However, he conceded to the fact that he wouldn’t dare pull off an event at a time like this. Eddie Hearn pointed out the main reason was due to the risk involved.
?There?s too much risk to get the doctors in place and we won?t get pullouts and withdrawals. And particularly access to emergency services i.e a hospital if a fighter gets injured on a private island and taking them on a helicopter. Not to be funny, but I think hospitals have enough on their plate without having to worry about a fighter?.? Said Hearn

Hearn seems to have a point, especially with the current healthcare crisis. . However, with UFC events postponed, for the time being, it seems to be a wise decision.
