Did Ryan Garcia do it? The question has left everyone wondering ever since he has been accused of doping and reportedly tested positive on two counts. This development has sharply divided boxing fans, as most have already cast him as guilty. However, Canelo Alvarez shares a different view.

ESPN’s Mike Coppinger had revealed that ‘KingRy’ tested positive for ostarine the day before and on the day of his fight with Devin Haney. But the fight went through, and he pulled off a remarkable upset win. Garcia, 25, now has 10 days to get his B-sample tested and exonerate himself. Few have sided with him in these trying times, including Gervonta Davis and Alvarez. So, what did the Mexican champion say?

When asked about the Garcia situation, Alvarez suggested the fans wait and not judge prematurely. He told Fight Hub TV, “You need to wait, you don’t need to judge very early. You need to wait and see what happens, and then we can talk about it.”

Garcia had clarified his stance on the situation as “big lies,” when he took his X handle and posted a video. “Everybody knows that I don’t cheat. Never taken a steroid… I don’t even know where to get steroids… I barely take supplements. Big lies, I beat his a*s,” he said. Meanwhile, ‘Tank’ believed it was Eddie Hearn‘s doing, as his disciple had suffered a crushing defeat. But fans didn’t accept their rationale and brushed aside Alvarez’s advice.

Fans blast Alvarez for defending ‘KingRy’

A fan hilariously jabbed at the super middleweight champion as he referenced his old news of failing a drug test. Notably, Alvarez had tested positive for clenbuterol in 2018 and, as a result, got slapped with a six-month ban. They wrote, “Juice boys stick together.”

A user believed the only question left was whether Garcia did it knowingly or not. They declared, “There’s Really nothing to talk about.. both test are positive, the only question is whether he knew or didn’t know what he was doing.”

But someone seconded Alvarez’s thinking and added that all could be a lie and no one should jump to conclusions.

One comment read, “he cheated what’s there to talk about.”

Another fan pointed out the appreciation Alvarez has for Garcia. The two once trained under Eddy Reynoso together, but Garcia quit later. Interstingly, Alvarez had also picked Garcia to do the unthinkable against Haney. They penned, “he comments lol. Canelo likes Ryan as a person and fighter, he’s just being careful with his words at the moment.”
