Boxing greats Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson are two of the most celebrated boxers of all time. The two have accumulated massive fame and success during their respective eras. Tyson has great regard for ‘The People’s Champion’, and he often speaks highly of him. However, in one of the recent episodes of his podcast, Tyson opened up on a never-heard-before detail about Ali.

In one of the recent episodes of the ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’ podcast, ‘Iron Mike’ said, “He(Muhammad Ali) aged early, you know. I remember seeing him shake, just not like anybody, yeah, it’s a little. He just aged late in life, I mean early in life.” 

Tyson further added, “There’s some boxer that die, they got hit like this. And then there’s guys you can beat them all night and then they retire. They’ll have no dementia, no nothing and living a very healthy life and stuff. You know the hands might hurt, their rib might hurt. They look so good, you would never think this was a fighter. He’s(Ali) articulate, it’s just like the luck of the draw.”

Well, anything like this has never been revealed about Ali before. However, between the ages of 26 and 39, it was observed that his speech slowed to 26%. Following that, he retired from boxing in 1981 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1984.

Ali left this world on June 3, 2016, at the age of 74. However, six years later, his eldest daughter Maryum Ali, opened about her father’s health at an event. She joined ‘In Focus’ during Parkinson’s Awareness month, where she discussed the behavioral details that she noticed in her father.

She said she was very during the time Ali fought. However, she did notice a difference in his speech when he fought Leon Spinks.

She further stated that there wasn’t much information about Parkinson’s back then. As per him, the legendary boxer was told the condition wouldn’t progress but it did. However, now there is a lot more awareness about Parkinson’s.

Regardless, Muhammad Ali’s name still remains one of the greatest in the sport of boxing. What do you think about his illustrious career?
