Anthony Joshua shouldn’t have let Oleksandr Usyk snatch the heavyweight titles from him when the pair met back in September 2021 in London. The crucial loss took away AJ’s potential to call for an undisputed title fight against Tyson Fury, along with his top-tier position in the division.
After the match, Joshua accepted the defeat wholeheartedly and vowed to avenge it in an immediate rematch. While several people are in favor of AJ, veteran trainer Teddy Atlas is not a fan of Joshua’s current approach.
Atlas believes Joshua shouldn’t have accepted the defeat so graciously. He put out some harsh criticism on the former heavyweight champion.

Speaking on his podcast, Atlas said, “Joshua, he’s made too much money.”
“I do [think that]. He accepts defeat too easily, too graciously – I want a good winner and a good loser, don’t get me wrong.”
“I believe as much as anybody, if not more than most people, about that, about showing that kind of graciousness whether you win or lose, but he’s too gracious when it comes to it. Like a guy that made too much money.” (H/T:- Boxing Scene)

Despite the whispers, it seems Joshua was never interested in letting Usyk face Tyson Fury in an undisputed heavyweight title fight. The offer was always valid, but AJ wants to resurrect himself in the race, instead of letting the opportunity pass.
The official rematch date is still not out. However, we can expect it to happen in early 2022, as all parties are on board with the idea.
Anthony Joshua has reportedly begun his training for the rematch and has claimed that he is done losing. Do you think Anthony Joshua can vanquish Oleksandr Usyk this time?
