British boxing icon Richard John Hatton, popularly known as Ricky Hatton, is set to make his boxing return. He competed in boxing matches from 1997 to 2012 and was one of the most sensational fighters of his time. Now having announced his boxing comeback, fans excitedly wait to see him in action again.

Ricky Hatton has held multiple world championships in his prime in the light-welterweight division. He has shared the ring with boxing icons such as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Since his retirement, the 44-year-old has worked as a boxing promoter and trainer.

The Stockport native last fought inside the squared circle in 2012, when he lost to Vyacheslav Senchenko. He has made a remarkable transformation since then, and now he is ready to show his boxing prowess to the world again. 

Fans react to Ricky Hatton’s boxing return 

Hatton will be seen against another boxing great, Marco Antonio Barrera, at the Manchester Arena. The exhibition bout will take place on November 12th, and it will be broadcasted by Sky Sports. Take a look at what fans have to say about his comeback. 

Like Hatton, even UFC superstar Conor McGregor has been away from fighting for a year due to a leg injury. However, he seems fit now, and the Irishman is also looking forward to making a striking return. One fan even prompted a potential clash between McGregor and Hatton.

The crowd always gave Hatton a roaring welcome when he used to turn on the lights in the boxing arenas. He kept spectators riveted to their seats during his matches. One of the most sensational fights of his career would be his 2005 battle against Kostya Tszyu.

Hatton wants to recreate his famous ring entrance at the Manchester Arena on November 12th. While talking to Sky Sports, he stated, “My ring walks are always very special. The ringwalk was the one thing that I miss from boxing. For any boxer when he comes out the changing room and does that walk to the ring, it’s the most nerve-wracking thing. When you retire, that’s the one thing you miss.”
