Alvarez has been more active and has achieved a great lot in recent years. However, many consider his growth to have stagnated, including Robert Garcia. The 48 year old is a retired former boxing champion and had a celebrated career of 34 victories with only three defeats. In a recent interview, the legendary boxer is of the opinion that the Mexican boxer has started to deteriorate and it is evident from his recent fights.

According to Boxing Scene, while acknowledging a possibility of an upset, he stated, “I give Charlo a big chance because Canelo hasn’t looked that good in his [recent] fights. I know he said, you know, there was a few injuries, a few personal problems during camp.”

In addition, he asserts Charlo would come in the best shape possible and is curious if Alvarez could handle that pressure. He added, “You know, the question is, is Canelo gonna be better than he has [been] in his last couple of fights? Because Charlo will be. Charlo’s a fighter. Charlo is one of those guys that is not gonna hold back.” It is safe to say that despite the odds stacked against Charlo, many including a boxing legend like Garcia fancy his chances to win. Just a few days ago, another former boxing champion, who has faced Alvarez, shared a similar take.
