Ahead of his fight with Paul, here is a look at Rahman Jr.’s wins by TKO and KO and what they tell us about the 31-year-old’s performance inside the ring.
What do the KO and TKOs of Hasim Rahman Jr. tell the critic?
The majority of the fighters that Rahman Jr. faced arrived neither in the best shape nor at the best age of their lives. The first two opponents that Rahman Jr. defeated via TKO, Ralph Alexander, and Demetrious Shaw, both fought Hasim in their debut fights. In addition, the fact that Shaw and Alexander, in their debut fights, were respectively 28 and 30, spoke of inexperience and late blooming against Hasim, 25.
Nathan Bedwell and James Jones are the remaining opponents whom Rahman Jr. finished by Technical Knockouts. There were fourteen years of an age gap between Bedwell and Jones. Even though Hasim was only a year older than Bedwell, Bedwell arrived with 5 wins and 18 losses (almost 4 times his wins)! Given that, it is fair to say that Bedwell fought not only with a fragile record but with a fragile spirit as well.

Now comes the question of James Jones. When Rahman Jr. fought Jones, the former was 26 and the latter 43. Against Jones, Hasim enjoyed a 13cm of height and 17 years of an age difference. And finally, his only KO, Alejandro De La. De La, was 44 when Hasim fought him, and he had 9 losses and only 1 win. Therefore, Rahman Jr. had his best performances only against fighters who were way past their primes and especially those who had more losses than wins.
