For the past 10 months, Tyson Fury has been struggling to lock a fight, but the time has suddenly changed for him. As of now, he’ll be taking on the former UFC champion Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. In addition to this, he has also signed a deal with Oleksandr Usyk for a fight scheduled before the end of the year. However, many believe that it may get postponed due to such short notice, but Fury doesn’t think so. He’s adamant about making it happen in December.
Before these fights, Fury’s manager Frank Warren had also reached out to Anthony Joshua for a fight, but Joshua already had plans to go against Daniel Dubois in August, which got canceled because of Dubois’ failed drug test. Then Joshua ended up taking down Robert Helenius on August 12th. However, Fury doesn’t seem to have any plans to face ‘AJ’ anymore.

Tyson Fury blasts the fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Tyson Fury disregarded the hopes of Anthony Joshua to get a title shot against him. Before this, Joshua told Sky Sports about his plans to get his hands on the WBC Heavyweight title, against Fury. But, ‘The Gypsy King’ is not interested in indulging in the all-British heavyweight contest. The rumors suggest that Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are cooking up a fight behind the scenes.

The winner of this bout could also become a valid contender against the Irish boxer. However, Fury doesn’t agree, and cannot see it happening anytime in the future. He said, “They’re both out in the cold and they’re both frozen, so it doesn’t really matter.” Fury also talked about how his fight against Usyk will happen by the end of December, and not in March-April.
So, the WBC champion has also dismissed any discussions that were happening about making the highly anticipated bout a double bill. Fury stated that there was no other choice for Usyk but to fight him in December.

Fury refutes the Usyk fight to be a mega-card
The $400 million mega heavyweight contest has been sprouting up in the discussions every now and then. However, the situation is still a bit lopsided regarding that. Anthony Joshua told Sky Sports that there have been some talks to add the Joshua vs. Wilder fight to Fury vs. Usyk card. But Fury is contradicting that piece of information. He talked about the consequences being drastic, if the fight didn’t take place by the end of the year.
He said, “I’m expecting it to take place in December, that’s what I’ve been told, so I’ve got no reason to disbelieve it for sure. Usyk has to fight me in December, doesn’t have a choice. He’s signed a contract so if he doesn’t, he’s breached contract and he gets sued, so doesn’t really have a choice.” So, Joshua’s dream of having a mega-fight next is seemingly a bit blurry.

Moreover, even Eddie Hearn came out to reveal that due to delayed negotiation with Wilder, Joshua’s next fight could be with someone else, and it won’t be a mega-fight. So it’s to be seen what will the future hold for the heavyweight mega fights, and when will the world get to see them? What are your thoughts about this? Let us know in the comments section.
