After spending 44 days in custody, Gervonta Davis was back at the gym to resume his training. The jail time pertains to his November 2020, hit-and-run case. The accident that injured four people resulted him in receiving a 90-day house arrest at his coach Calvin Ford’s house.

However, court records reveal that the fighter instead spent his initial days at a luxury hotel and then bought a new place, directly violating the court’s orders. The court in return came down heavily on him. It further ordered him to spend the rest of the sentence behind bars. Now that he’s completed the jail time, he has begun training again.

The lightweight class has stumbled upon an impasse that has restricted the big matches from coming Davis’ way this year. Devin Haney is going up  in weight to clash against Regis Prograis for a December fight. Shakur Stevenson on the other hand will face Edwin De Los Santos on the 16th of November. These two elite fighters have been pitted against Gervonta Davis. Therefore, who Davis fights next is anybody’s guess. Until then, the fans have to do with  short clips of  boxing drills that he posts on social media.

One fan said that the fast jabs would be too much for both Haney and Stevenson. They wrote, “Haney and Shakur don’t want that smoke.”

Another prominent boxer looking to complete his spectacular redemption arc, Adrian Broner said, “You making me want to jump on a flight lol.” Broner led the pack in supporting Tank when he was sentenced to jail time earlier this year.

A fan recognized how the fighter despite his long absence from the ring still remains in the best of shape. They wrote, “Big ni*ga moving fast too!”
