From the tragic loss of his brother in July to multiple subsequent matchup failures, these past few months have been heavy for Chris Eubank Jr. However, he is now looking to dedicate himself to the sport completely to overcome recent setbacks in life.

Just over two weeks ago, he fought 26-year-old Wanik Awdijan (28-2-0) and won via round 5 RTD. All along, Eubank Jr. had his eyes set on fighting in October and then doing a much bigger fight in December.

Now, it seems that plan is working out just fine. Promoter Ben Shalom recently announced that he is looking to set up a middleweight grudge match between Chris Eubank Jr. and Welsh rival Liam Williams.

While mostly one-sided, both fighters have been involved in a war of words for quite some time now. Liam Williams is coming off a loss to Demetrius Andrade earlier this year and has been taking shots at the 32-year-old Brighton, Sussex resident ever since then.

Eubank Jr. has also hit back at Williams for trash-talking on social media. Even after the Awdijan fight, he said that Williams was the frontrunner for his next fight in December.

If it is Liam Williams, that’s a great fight. A lot of fans have been calling for that fight for a while now. He’s been saying a lot, he’s been saying a lot on social media. So, that’s a fight I’ll very much enjoy just for the pure fact of shutting this guy up once and for all,” said Chris Eubank Jr.

Fans do not want Chris Eubank Jr. vs Liam Williams to be a PPV fight

This middleweight clash between Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Williams is definitely a fan favorite. The rivalry between the two is real and has attracted a lot of attention on social media. These are two upcoming contenders in the division and have a decent following as well. However, for some reason, fans on Twitter have expressed their aversion over the fact that this could be a pay-per-view feature.

Many have now expressed that this is a great weekend clash; however, it apparently does not have enough in-built glamour and build-up to get people to pay for this fight.

Here’s what boxing fans on Twitter had to say about this being a PPV feature –
