It finally happened! The fight people waited for months unfolded in front of thousands of fans in T-Mobile Arena. Curmel Moton took on Ezequiel Flores in the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo. In a dominating show of performance, Moton dropped Flores in the first round of the bout. Soon after Moton’s victory, Shakur Stevenson took to X (formerly Twitter), announcing the news to his followers.
Going into the fight, Flores had more professional fighting experience with four total fights, all wins. However, his experience just wasn’t enough to defeat Floyd Mayweather’s prodigy. The boxing world had expected the win as the likes of Floyd, Gervonta Davis, and Shakur Stevenson had backed the youth. What no one expected was the dominant fashion Moton got the win. On hearing the result, fans made their way to Shakur’s post, expressing their amazement at Moton’s brilliant performance.

After the bout, Shakur tweeted, “Curmel stopped him in the 1st round.” In response to the news, some remarked about Curmel’s performance, while others expressed disappointment in missing the fight.
One user amusingly remarked how quickly the fight ended. At the onset of the first round, Moton threw a few faints and jabs at Flores. However, he soon figured out Flores and went into the offensive. Before the stoppage, Moton had scored a knockdown and later took Flores to the ropes to finish the fight.
Loooool he got him out of there before my kettle even finished boiling

Another user claimed it was a bad stoppage because when the referee pulled Moton off of Flores, the latter was moving around fine. It’s worth mentioning that referees are often closer to the fighters and can gauge the situation better. Although the user may also be correct, there is no official word from Flores yet.
Poor stoppage.
Yea lots of combo punches but when the ref pulled him off the guy he wasn’t hurt at all and was ready to continue.— MrSnapSnappySnap (@LAsnapperPAP) October 1, 2023
Someone else wondered why the bout took place after the Canelo vs. Charlo fight. Previously, Jake Donovan tweeted about the news on X. He had claimed Mayweather Promotions CEO revealed the fight would not be televised. So, just the audience present in T-Mobile Arena got to watch Moton in action.
Why would they have him fight after the main event? Why wouldn’t he be on the undercard

One next user expressed his disappointment about not being able to watch the fight. However, the clip of Moton fighting Flores is floating on YouTube. Even though it’s not the same as HD cameras recording other fights, the fight itself was short. So, most fans got to watch Moton in action with these clips.
Damn like that 😭 I wanted to watch the fight
