Francis Ngannou will come face-to-face with Tyson Fury on 28 October in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Despite Ngannou’s devastating punching power, Fury remains the popular choice for taking home the victory. What’s more, Ngannou has acquired coaching advice from none other than Mike Tyson. However, that did not earn him favor from the public, as Ngannou is still considered a massive underdog.
The WBC heavyweight champion will aim to defend his undefeated record against the former UFC heavyweight champion live on TNT Sports Box Office. The fight is being dubbed as the biggest crossover boxing event since Conor McGregor entered the square ring against the legend Floyd Mayweather. Unlike that fight, though, this one is considered a cash grab and a cakewalk for Fury. However, not everyone feels that way! Dewey Cooper, Ngannou’s former trainer, recently backed Ngannou for a win.

While appearing in an interview with The Mayweather Channel, Dewey reiterated ‘Iron’ Mike’s statement. Dewey said, “Francis going to go shock the world.” He went on to claim that Francis would tarnish Fury’s unbeaten record and disrupt the boxing scene. “[Francis will] give him his first loss, upset the whole balance of everything with this win,” Dewey told the reporter.
Ngannou’s former trainer then claimed Ngannou had done the same before in his life. “Because he’s [Francis Ngannou] already done it in his life,” said Dewey. But what really stood out during the interview is the fact that Dewey claimed “he [Franics] has the God-given attributes that are going to be hard to overcome.” Dewey concluded the subject with a warning – If Francis lands a punch, it’s done for Fury. “Once it hits, that will be it,” said Dewey.
Tyson Fury promises to knock out Francis in six rounds
The upcoming clash between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury is being dubbed as ‘Rumble in Riyadh.’ Moreover, despite being the crowd favorite, Fury revealed he is not underestimating Ngannou. However, the WBC champion also claimed he would make quick work of Ngannou by knocking him out within six rounds. “I’m going to knock him out inside six rounds,” Fury told Euro Sport.

Fury claimed he is not overlooking Ngannou’s one-punch knockout capability but also emphasized no boxer can hold out against his power. Moreover, Fury even cited his dominance over the hard-hitting Deontay Wilder. Nevertheless, Fury suggested that he respected Ngannou for agreeing to a boxing match despite having an MMA background.
Even though most of the boxing world has chucked Francis Ngannou as the loser even before the fight commenced, Dewey believes in Ngannou’s capabilities. However, only time will tell if Dewey’s belief will hold ground when the two fighters get in the ring on the 28th of October.
