Despite being a super middleweight kingpin, Canelo Alvarez seems to have some unfinished business in the 160 lbs division. Hence, he had a heated altercation with WBO middleweight champion, Demetrius Andrade, after a sensational victory over Billy Joe Saunders.

The P4P King outworked Saunders to claim the WBO super middleweight belt alongside his WBC WBA and Ring titles. And he might land up in another unification fight against Caleb Plant.

However, Demetrius Andrade expressed his desire in fighting Alvarez and it didn’t go down very well. During the post-fight press conference, ‘Boo Boo’ made his way to the arena and grabbed some mic-time with Canelo Alvarez. It appeared to be a friendly chatter in the beginning.

However, both men got involved in a verbal battle. While Andrade claimed himself to be Canelo Alvarez’s fan in the start, he also vowed to beat him in a fight.

“I Know, I know that [You are my fan]. Man, you fight with nobody. You are a champion, but you fight with nobody, man. Get the f*** out of here,” said Canelo Alvarez.

He added, “You are a horrible fighter.”

Meanwhile, Andrade responded, “I will f*** you up.”

Despite reigning over the super middleweight division, Alvarez has hinted at moving down to the 160 lbs weight class again. But the four-division champion’s primary aim is to unify the belts at 168 lbs. Hence, Caleb Plant will probably be Alvarez’s next opponent. This means Demetrius Andrade will not get the fight anytime soon. But can it happen in the future?

Canelo Alvarez vs Demetrius Andrade- A fight treat

Demetrius Andrade is still undefeated in the pro circuit and holds an alluring record of 30-0 (18 KO). He beat Liam Williams on April 17 to defend his WBO title for the fourth time.

Before aiming towards Alvarez, ‘Boo Boo’ had targeted a fight with IBF champion Gennady Golovkin. But ‘GGG’ didn’t seem interested.
