After defeating Vasyl Lomachenko, Teofimo Lopez made a name for himself in the division. He also engraved his name in boxing history as he gained great attention being the youngest boxer to hold four belts at the age of 23. Lopez became a superstar after defeating the renowned Ukrainian boxer, in 2020. But this fame came to a little halt as he took a ferocious beating in the fight against George Kambosos Jr., where he lost all of his belts. Later, Kambosos Jr. lost these belts to Devin Haney, who conquered the Lightweight division.
That’s the reason, Teofimo Lopez Sr. believes that Haney is a world champion today, because of his son. Currently, Lopez Jr. is preparing hard for his upcoming fight against Josh Taylor. This will be his third fight after losing to Kambosos Jr. He’s looking to do everything in his power to redeem himself, and then challenge the champion. Once, Lopez Sr. also slammed Gervonta Davis for his choice of opponents.
