Leo Santa Cruz may be the underdog in the fight, but he is no stranger to the big stage. The 32-year-old will compete in his fortieth professional fight when he takes on ‘Tank.’
Out of Cruz’s 39 fights, 37 have ended in victory. His only defeat was against Carl Frampton. Cruz beat Frampton in the rematch and also has two victories against Abner Mares. However, out of his 37 victories, only 19 have come through knockouts. Two of the three wins against the aforementioned fighters were majority decisions.
It is clear to see that Santa Cruz will try to take the fight to the judges’ scorecard and outbox the undefeated champion. There is no question of his approach. He is the more experienced fighter and arguably possesses the better fight IQ. He even predicted a decision victory.
Davis is an explosive fighter. At just 25-years-old, he is a three-time world champion. In his 23 professional fights, 22 have come by knockouts. And his last fight against Gamboa was a twelfth round stoppage victory for the American.
This shows that Davis can knockout and go the distance while keeping the pressure for 12 rounds. He may be young but the fighter has displayed sublime ring management in his previous fights.

Prediction for the Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz fight
We are going with Devin Haney on this one. We think Gervonta Davis will win the fight by TKO in the latter stages of the fight. Though Leo Santa Cruz is more than capable of going the distance, facing one of the best power-punchers in the higher weight class will be his biggest challenge.
Gervonta Davis will keep coming and test Santa Cruz’s chin. Santa Cruz could use his experience. But in the fight’s course, Davis will have too much power for the 32-year-old to handle round after round. The 95% knockout rate is something that can not be overlooked.
