Can Figueroa finally avenge his loss, or will Fulton prove he's still the superior fighter?

Three years after putting a match-of-the-year contender in November 2021, Stephen Fulton and Brandon Figueroa are ready to face each other again on the undercard of Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach WBA lightweight title fight on December 14 at Houston’s Toyota Center. Last time, both of them entered the ring as 122-pound champions and Fulton walked out as the WBO and WBC super bantamweight unified champion.

It was an intense match that was defined by Figueroa’s aggressive style, but he was not able to break Cool Boy Steph’s counters. With a score of 116-112,116-112 and 114-114, Fulton clinched the title. But the loss left a bitter taste in Heartbreaker’s mouth, as he felt that the decision was unfair. Well, he will finally get his chance at revenge in Houston in a much-hyped-up clash.

Fulton and Figueroa are confirmed to face each other in the featherweight category of the PBC event. Cool Boy Steph has fought three times since Figueroa’s fight and faced his first career loss against Naoya Inoue last year. He moved up to 126 pounds last month to face Carlos Castro and was successful in his first venture on the Canelo-Berlanga undercard.

On the other hand, Heartbreaker has fought all three of his bout since the defeat at featherweight. He won all three of those fights and is climbing up the ranks very quickly. He even clinched the WBC Interim Featherweight title by defeating Mark Magsayo last year.

While the other fights on the undercard are not yet confirmed, reports indicate that David Benavidez will face Jesse Hart at light heavyweight. Furthermore, Jermall Charlo has been hinted at making his return on the same undercard.

Fans were disappointed when Tank chose Roach instead of Edwin De Los Santos for the mandatory title defense. Roach will move up to the lightweight division for the fight and fans were not happy as there are many actual lightweight contenders that Davis could have chosen from. This main event really let the fans’ expectations down but it looks like the undercard is shaping up to be a spectacle in itself.

Tank vs Roach is not the only undercard that has a sensational matchup. Just seven days later, a highly anticipated co-main event will take place on the undercard of the Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk rematch.

Israil Madrimov to light up Riyadh

Israil Madrimov will face Serhii Bohachuk in the co-main event of the Fury-Usyk rematch in Riyadh on December 21. His Excellency Turki Alalshikh himself made the announcement on Tuesday on his social media account.

He wrote, “Before the two giants collide in Fury v Usyk Reignited, the undercard is set to light up the ring. With some of the biggest names in boxing stepping into the ring, these matchups will set the stage for an unforgettable night,” while hyping up the junior middleweight bout.

The Fury-Usyk undercard was quite lackluster, featuring Johnny Fisher vs. David Allen in a heavyweight clash. Moses Itauma faces Demsey McKean and Dennis McCann against Peter McGrail in the junior featherweight category. But the addition of Madrimov has increased the potential of the PPV and has made it worth fans’ time.
