During the press conference after that, Tank talked about a lot of different topics, ranging from his plans for the fight to his thoughts on why Garcia wants to fight him in the heavier weight category. In the video uploaded by ESNEWS, reporters were asking a lot of different questions to Tank in the build-up to his fight on April 22. Ryan Garcia leaving himself open and getting knocked down by Luke Campbell is a common critique people use against Garcia. So one of the reporters asked a similar question to Garcia. He asked Davis’s thoughts on throwing fast and hard punches but throwing them ‘like nothing is coming back his way’.
Tank seemed pretty indecisive as he struggled to come up with words to express his thoughts about the question. He said, “I don’t think he just… I don’t know, bro”. He then showed how unfazed he is by Garcia’s speed and simply answered, “He just doing what he do best, I guess”.

In the same interview, one of the reporters asked him to give a prediction about the fight. He joked that people are betting and wanted to know Tank’s thoughts. To which Gervonta predicted that the fight would last 7 to 8 rounds. When asked why 7 or 8 rounds? He replied that he plans to figure out Garcia during that time and then defeat him. He claimed, “I’m just going to get straight to the point on this fight”. Tank claimed that he wants to show Garcia in this fight that he ‘ain’t that person’.
Later, one of the reporters asked him if Tank’s mindset for the fight is to steamroll Garcia. Tank replied that his goal is not to steamroll. The other reporter asked him if the goal is to punish ‘KingRy’. Davis referred to an episode of Impaulsive where Garcia sent a warning to Davis. He joked, “He said how he ain’t gonna leave the ring unless he takes something, like, aight take this a** whooping”.
