WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis claimed that he is far superior to unified champion Teofimo Lopez when it comes to footwork and boxing skills.

Touting a fight between them, Lopez and Davis have already lashed out at each other frequently. While Lopez desired to square off against Davis after his sensational win against Vasyl Lomachenko, ‘Tank’ Davis has offered something similar in a recent interview.

However, Davis will primarily defend his WBA lightweight belt against Leo Santa Cruz and try to win the WBA super featherweight title. After that, if Lopez remains in the 135 lbs division, ‘Tank’ Davis wants to dance with him inside the ring.

Gervonta Davis wants a crack at Teofimo Lopez

The lightweight roster is stacked with several undefeated champions. That said, they need to fight each other to clear off the clouds.

Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis already believes that he can easily take out the ‘Take Over.’ In an interaction with Max Kellerman, the WBA champion gave his opinion on Lopez’s call-outs and said:

“He is at 135, so I definitely got to have, you know, my eyes on him but the reason why he is saying that his eyes now on me because you know, he has struggled to make the weight because he is bigger, too big at 135 and I will be strong, moving up at 135, you know I got the whole package.”

‘Tank’ added, “Teofimo do not have the whole package. You know he don’t have the footwork and none of it. I have the whole package and if he (is) willing to stay at 135, we can make the fight happen.”

After conquering the lightweight roster, Teofimo Lopez wants to turn towards the 140 lb too. Thus, it can hamper or delay his fantasy fight against Davis.
