Boxing fans around the world are eagerly anticipating this weekend’s super fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia. The stakes of this bout have now been raised even higher by the news that both fighters are willing to bet their entire purse on the outcome. Davis, the WBA (regular) lightweight champion, is the favorite going into the 12-round bout at the T-Mobile Arena. He has an impressive 28-0 record and 26 KOs to his name. However, Garcia is also undefeated, with a record of 23-0 and 19 KOs.
The pair’s confidence in their own abilities is clear with both fighters apparently willing to put everything on the line in a high-stakes bet. The bet took place on a live stream of internet personality Kai Cenat where the two made a verbal agreement to let the winner get all the money. The move has been criticized by former UFC champion Conor McGregor who called this whole arrangement stupid. However, it seems that both fighters are more than willing to go through with this bet.

In a recent interview with FightHype.com Davis was asked if he had an update on the bet. The former two-division champion then revealed that he was in talks with Garcia’s camp and was willing to confirm the bet if ‘KingRy’ was on board.
“Yeah we’ve been talking to them. We’ve been trying to get with his team” he said.
It’s worth remembering that both fighters stand to lose a significant amount of money by putting their entire purse on the line.
Davis and Garcia are demonstrating their confidence in their own abilities and their willingness to take risks in pursuit of victory. Of course, there are also potential downsides to such a high-stakes bet. However, the bet has certainly added an extra layer of excitement to what is already a highly-anticipated fight.

“I just hope he’s not talking about the purse he wears. That’s all I’m worried about. We’re not talking about the purse you wear; we’re talking about the whole fight purse. Bring it on,” he said.
Although it is unlikely that this bet will be added to their contracts, it does peak interest in the fight. Moreover, boxing will finally have a fight where fans will get to see two stars facing each other. The only question remains is who will come out on top this Saturday?
