With 93% of his wins coming through knockouts, Gervonta Davis has established his name as one of boxing’s foremost experts in early stoppages. The hard-hitting southpaw would undergo a crucial test in Nevada’s T Mobile Arena on April 22. His opponent is unlike most of the opponents he has faced in his career. A lethal left hook and penchant for early closure make Ryan Garcia one of the most redoubtable foes Davis would ever meet.

Davis’ life outside the ring is well known in equal measure. The press conferences and the clauses of the fight agreement have been drawing attention on their part. So it won’t be surprising to find a renewed interest in the Baltimorean Southpaw’s overall net worth and the money he has made so far in an outstanding career.

Born November 7, 1994, Gervonta Davis started boxing when he was five. Like his archrival Ryan Garcia, the 2012 National Golden Gloves champion had a brilliant amateur career. His record before becoming professional stood at two hundred and six wins against only six losses.

On February 22, 2013, Davis knocked out Desi Williams in his professional debut. He participated in sixteen matches for the next three years, winning all. On January 14, 2017, he won his first title, IBF Super Featherweight, against Puerto Rican Jose Pedraza. Next year, he scaled up and took home the vacant WBA (Super) Super Featherweight after knocking out the Argentine Jesus Cuellar.

He moved up the weight divisions, defeated Yuriorkis Gamboa, and won the vacant WBA (Regular) Lightweight title in 2019. Two years later, continuing his winning streak, Davis knocked out Leo Santa Cruz and successfully defended his WBA (Regular) Lightweight, besides grabbing WBA (Super) Super Featherweight titles. Finally, a technical knockout victory over Mario Barrios fetched him WBA (Regular) Super Lightweight title.

This year on January 7, he successfully defended his WBA (Regular) Lightweight title against the Dominican Hector Luis Garcia. Thus ‘Tank’s’ professional record stands at twenty-eight wins against nil losses. Out of the twenty-eight, twenty-six, he bagged through knockouts.
