However, it has been disclosed that he is separating from the company and will no longer hold the position of CEO.
Following this, Gervonta Davis, who was the top boxer in Mayweather Promotions till 2022, shared an Instagram story calling names to the main man, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Though the exact cause for his hatred against Mayweather is unknown, it is possible that it contributed to his departure from Mayweather Promotions. Ellerbe’s departure from the organization has created a buzz in the boxing industry. Amidst this, Davis shared a story derailing the situation.
‘Tank’ shared an Instagram story where Mayweather is seen shaking hands with Richard Schaefer and wrote, “If you sign with this fraud..he will fu** up ya career…he’s not a good businessman at all.”
Additionally, in April, fans were wondering why ‘Money’ was stuck in Dubai for such a long period. All his posts and stories were of Dubai. Davis took to his Instagram then and stated in an Instagram story that Mayweather is being held in Dubai due to some unpaid debts. However, nothing as such has come to light. Leonard Ellerbe has been running the company for almost a decade now. It will be difficult for someone to come and fill in his shoes. Mayweather Jr. wrote a poignant caption for a post on Instagram regarding Ellerbe’s retirement while also revealing who the new CEO is.

The post shows Mayweather shaking hands with Richard Schaefer, who is the president of Anthem Sports Group and is a former CEO of Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions. Schaefer will now take over as the new CEO of Mayweather Promotions.

The 50-0 boxer wrote a heartfelt caption for Ellerbe which read, “Mayweather Promotions would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Leonard Ellerbe for his exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication over the years. Leonard has been an integral part of our team, contributing to numerous business endeavors that have played a pivotal role in the success of Mayweather Promotions.”
He further explained that Ellerbe is stepping down from the position of CEO to spend more time with his family and loved ones.
