Fast-rising prospect Keyshawn Davis is set to challenge Denys Berinchyk for the WBO lightweight title. However, ‘The Businessman’ seems to have his sights set beyond his upcoming opponent. The 25-year-old Norfolk native has recently called out Isaac Cruz for a future showdown while also taking a jab at Gervonta Davis.
The 12-O prospect will take on current undefeated WBO lightweight champion Berinchyk at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York on 14th February, a fight that will mark his first title fight. However, after Isaac Cruz secured a unanimous decision win over Angel Fierro on the undercard of David Benavidez vs. David Morrell yesterday, Davis jumped into action.
‘Pitbull’ Cruz was coming off a shocking upset loss to Jose Valenzuela last year, and the Fierro fight was meant for him to bounce back. He also seems to have rejected a fight offer from Ryan Garcia in May to focus on the bout. Regardless, following his win, ‘The Businessman’ wrote on X, “I’m not gonna lie after I get my belt I would love to fight Isaac Cruz. He a dawg & I’m a dawg would be a great fight.”

At the same time, Gervonta Davis was also watching the Benavidez vs. Morrell event in Las Vegas. In a tweet on X, ‘Tank’ wrote, “I hate when the ref say ‘stop holding’..b**ch I’m trying to get myself together, give me a sec..” This seems to have prompted the 25-year-old to hit back at the Baltimore native with a 5-word verbal attack.

“You a h*e shut up,” Keyshawn Davis wrote. Before wanting to fight Cruz, ‘The Businessman’ has called out Gervonta Davis to a fight on multiple occasions due to the paycheck Davis brings with him. However, the undefeated Baltimore native doesn’t seem to be interested in the Norfolk native’s challenge.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Keyshawn Davis back up his bold words against Cruz and Gervonta, or is he all talk?
Have an interesting take?
Interestingly enough, even Keyshawn Davis’ upcoming opponent prefers Gervonta Davis over him.

Denys Berinchyk prefers Gervonta Davis over Keyshawn Davis
Denys Berinchyk isn’t looking past Keyshawn Davis, but he already has his eyes on a bigger prize. The newly crowned WBO champion is gearing up for his February 14 showdown against Davis, but if everything goes according to plan, he knows exactly who he wants next. “Gervonta Davis is better for me,” Berinchyk admitted during an interview with The Toma Todito Boxing Show.

At 36, Berinchyk isn’t interested in soft touches. After upsetting Emanuel Navarrete, he could’ve taken an easier route. Instead, he’s diving straight into a fight with the undefeated Keyshawn Davis. However, Gervonta Davis represents the ultimate opportunity—both as a challenge and a financial windfall. “Big name, belts, huge money, huge event,” Berinchyk explained.
With Gervonta Davis holding superstar status and an undefeated record, from Keyshawn Davis to Denys Berinchyk everyone wants the smoke against the Baltimore native. However, for now, ‘The Businessman’ and Berinchyk will have to settle for each other. Do you think Davis will beat Berinchyk? Do you think Davis should fight Cruz?
