The Ferocious George Kambosos Jr. went toe to toe against the superstar Devin Haney for the lightweight unification bout on June 4, 2022. This fight took place in Kambosos’ hometown, Australia at the Marvel Stadium.

Unfortunately, the Aussie fighter couldn’t live up to the expectations of his fans as he failed to deliver a winning performance in his country.
George Kambosos Jr. opens up about the rematch
Following his loss, the 28-year-old has revealed that boxing fans can look forward to the rematch against Devin Haney. During his post-fight press conference, Kambosos mentioned that he is ready for it and wants the fight to happen as soon as possible.
He stated, “As soon as possible, we can do it tomorrow if you want. I feel great so it is what it is and hopefully at the end of the year November we do it again.” The former WBA, IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight champion is itching to get his hands on Haney even though the latter dominated Kambosos throughout the fight.
Only time will tell what the timeline will be for Haney to defend the unified lightweight title against Kambosos. However, the Aussie fighter looks ready to take on the champion again.
Haney reigns supreme against Kambosos
Devin Haney displayed a masterclass at the Marvel Stadium as he became the unified lightweight champion. As a matter of fact, Haney was on top of his game on Saturday night.

Haney extended his undefeated run to 28-0 by delivering the first loss of Kambosos’ career. The Dream defeated the 28-year-old via decision after outclassing him for 12 rounds straight. The rematch between the two can see the champion outshine Kambosos again. However, the Aussie fighter can come back and stun the w0rld.
