Over the course of time, there have been countless sensational pugilists in the world of boxing. Yet, very few of them could match the profile of Manny Pacquiao. ‘Pacman’ has hung around the sport for a substantial period and has etched himself as the biggest fan-favorite fighter of all time. With his exuberant in-ring conduct, he has inspired a generation of budding boxers. One such name in that list is the undefeated lightweight, George Kambosos Jr.

Recently, Kambosos Jr. was in a chat with Fight Hub TV. Here he spoke on his long-time idol, Manny Pacquiao, and even detailed on a sparring session with the latter.

He said, “Yeah, look, I always watched Manny when I was a young kid and I watched him destroy everybody.”

So I was warming up. I didn’t even go to say hi to him or I’m from Australia, you know, I’m a sparring partner, I’m sparring you. The first hello was jumping the ring.”

“I made him feel young throughout his camp and I gave him that hunger back where look at this guy coming through and pushing me. And it was awesome, especially that first sparring, because that was a test,” he added.

‘Pacman’ was highly impressed with the Australian and even asserted to his team that he needs Kambosos Jr. in his future training camps as well. It was just the ideal fan moment for Kambosos Jr. and he couldn’t have asked for anything more than that.
