George Kambosos Jr. is one of the best lightweight boxers in the world right now and the Australian currently holds the WBA, IBF, and WBO lightweight championships.
Kambosos was born on June 14, 1993 in Sydney, Australia, and has parents are of Greek descent. He took up boxing at the age of 11 training under Ricky Stuart. Moreover, before turning pro, he fought in 100 amateur fights, winning 85 of them.

George Kambosos Jr’s boxing career
Kambosos made his professional boxing debut in May 2013 at the age of 19. He beat Filipino boxer Jayson Mac Gu, knocking him out in the second round. Furthermore, in December 2016, the ‘Ferocious’ won the WBA Oceania title by beating Brandon Ogilvie.

Kambosos got his breakthrough in 2017 when Manny Pacquiao made him his sparring partner for his fight against Jeff Horn. After that, he remained Pacquiao’s primary sparring partner till 2018.
He made his debut in the United States in May 2018, knocking out Jose Forero. The lightweight fighter rose to fame after shocking the world by beating Teofimo Lopez and capturing the Mexican’s three world titles.

Now, the undefeated Australian lightweight world champion is currently preparing to face off against the American WBC lightweight champion, Devin Haney. Nonetheless, this will be a title unification bout and the winner gets to be the undisputed lightweight champion holding all four belts. Currently, Kambosos boasts an undefeated professional record of 20-0 with 10 knockouts under his belt.

As of 2022, Kambosos has an estimated net worth of around $1.5 million. The majority of his earnings came from his recent bout with Teofimo Lopez, where the Australian boxer is said to have earned around $1.5 million.
