Gennady Golovkin is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time. Golovkin remained undefeated inside the squared circle until his 40th professional bout where he lost to Canelo Alvarez in September 2018. He currently reigns as the IBF and IBO middleweight champion of the world.

Golovkin hails from Kazakhstan and is a former silver medallist in the Athens Olympic Games. He is a former world champion, junior world champion, and a gold medallist at the 2002 Asian Games.

Over the course of his decade-long career, Golovkin has picked up the welterweight championship twice. Additionally, he reigned as the unified champion of the middleweight division from 2014 to 2018. GGG came close to becoming the first boxer since Floyd Mayweather to beat Canelo Alvarez. He gave Alvarez a tough fight in their first meeting in September 2017; that fight ended in a draw.

Gennady Golovkin is valued at over $30 million. The majority of his earnings have come from boxing as he continues to propel himself at the top of the middleweight division. Golovkin earned a whopping purse of $15 million from his rematch against Canelo Alvarez. Needless to say, he pocketed much more after his cut from the PPV sales.

Golovkin continues to impress and has shown no signs of slowing down. Earlier, Golovkin signed a staggering deal with DAZN that promised him a guaranteed purse of $13 million per fight. However, due to COVID, both parties negotiated new terms. The details about this new deal haven’t been made public yet.
