Usually, it’s Tyson Fury indulging in trash talk! However, his promoter, Frank Warren, seems to be craving the spotlight as he attempted to take a jab at Oleksandr Usyk on social media today! ‘The Gypsy King’ and ‘The Cat’ are scheduled to meet in the ring on 17 February at Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Aptly named the ‘Ring of Fire,’ the fight wouldn’t be a regular event. Instead, it will create history!

The much-awaited clash will produce the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. Usyk and Fury have been on a collision course for the longest time since the former took down Anthony Joshua twice in 2021 and 2022. However, as the date for the clash between these two heavyweights inches closer, the head of Queensberry Promotions tried his best to fracture Usyk’s morale with a picture.

Turning to X (formerly Twitter), the famed boxing promoter shared a picture of Oleksandr Usyk and his fellow Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko. It’s worth mentioning that ‘The Gypsy King’ took on Klitschko back in November 2015, winning the fight via dominant unanimous decision. So, by sharing the picture, Frank implies the same fate awaits Usyk.

However, if the not-so-subtle implication wasn’t clear, Frank wrote, “One down. One to go. Feb 17th [Tyson Fury].” On a separate note, Fury is coming off a hairline split decision win over Francis Ngannou, something that shocked the entire world. Given Fury’s performance against a debut boxer like Ngannou, Frank’s taunting words came as a shock. However, even Fury had recently taken shots at the Ukrainian but was swiftly put in his place.

The Cat gets candid regarding his earring

In their face-to-face interview shared on YouTube on 25 January, the WBC heavyweight champion tried to take a dig at Usyk. Fury said, “I know he can’t beat me, I know he can’t. A man who wears an earring can never beat Tyson Fury, ever. Not a chance, no-one who wears earrings can beat [me].” This was a big mistake on Fury’s part, as Usyk didn’t waste time revealing the importance of his earring.

“I can explain about the earrings. It’s Ukrainian warrior, Cossack. They were the people who defended my country from our enemies for many years. This is just the proof of my Cossack lineage – they never lost to anybody,” Usyk retorted. Though Fury tried to get back the upper hand by calling Usyk “a p**** with an earring in,” but it was of no use!
