Experts touted Dubois as the next big thing in the heavyweight division, and there was a lot of excitement surrounding his first major test against Joe Joyce. However, ‘Juggernaut’ showed his experience and beat Dubois, causing a nasty injury.
In conversation with Boxing Scene, Warren said, “The doctor is happy with the way the fractures have healed, He has to go back to get his retina looked at again, but hopefully he will then be OK to go again then and get back into full training.”
Given the severity of the injury, this is good news for boxing fans. Many expected the 23-year-old to be out for a significant period. Dubois himself will be eager to return to the ring and prove his worth after all the criticism he faced.

Frank Warren says they will no rush Daniel Dubois
Despite the injury healing well, Warren confirmed they will not rush his return to the ring. This is a smart move since his next fight could make or break his title hopes. He also gave the time-frame that they’re considering.
“We want to get him back out in late April, or maybe May. All of us are very disappointed with what happened, but he is young and we are not going to rush him into anything,” said Warren.

Therefore, their intention with Dubois is clear, and they will be careful with managing the young fighter. However, given the competition in the division right now, any extra delay on Dubois’ part will see him fall further back in the heavyweight title ride.
However, Dubois has time on his side. Therefore, it makes sense for the ‘Dynamite’ to take his time and work his way up the heavyweight ladder.
