Heavyweight stalwart Mike Tyson had several bad-blood feuds in his prime and had battered his relationship with many of his contemporaries. However, 54-year-old Tyson seems to have moved on from those phases, as he is believed to be friends with Evander Holyfield and Frank Bruno, two of his biggest rivals.
That said, Frank Bruno claimed of loving Tyson’s new personality as he no longer possess the larger-than-life aura. Last year, Bruno and Tyson re-connected with each other in the USA to film a documentary. That’s when Bruno reflected his opinion on Tyson as a person.
In conversation with Talk Sport, ‘The True Brit’ said, “How can you be friends with someone who’s trying to knock you out and kill ya? Yeah, I’ve been over there. He’s very nice and very down to earth and very calm.”

Bruno further pointed at some changes in Mike Tyson’s character and called it to be the “best” version of ‘Iron’ Mike. Despite sharing a heated rivalry in the past, Bruno praised Tyson for the right reasons.
“He didn’t have the entourage around him, so he seemed much better than having all yes-men around him. He just had his PA, and he just kept it on a level. It was the best I’ve ever seen him. I think he’s into Bob Marley though… if you know what I mean, Harry?” said Bruno.

Mike Tyson vs Frank Bruno- A look back at the past
The heavyweight greats collided against each other twice in their fighting career. Tyson won both the fights via knockouts and set his hands on the world titles on both the occasions.
In 1989, Bruno faced Tyson for the first time to grab the latter’s world titles. But, it was a tranquil night for ‘Iron’ as he stopped Bruno in the fifth round to retain his belts.
The second fight happened after seven years in 1996, and Tyson had surpassed his prime by then. But, he still outclassed Bruno via TKO and took just three rounds to finish the fight. Post the clash, Bruno retired from boxing and Tyson fought for 9 more years until hanging the gloves in 2005.
